New York Central (CCC&StL - Big 4) Wood Caboose

This group of cabooses was built between 1914 and 1927 with many erlier cabooses rebuilt to this design.  These cabooses were ahead of their time as their rooftop cupola was wider than the sides of the car body - a design feature that was common for cabooses built in the 1960's and later.  On the CCC&StL  the cabooses were numbered from  1 to 799.

The Big Four was mereged into the New York Central System in 1930.  Under the NYC, these cabooses were re numberd in to the 17350-17695 series and could be seen across the system.

• 100% laser-cut components with custom laser-scribed Birch plywood side, end walls, and cupola,
• Tab & Slot carbody construction.
• Peel & Stick window, door, and trim assembly.
• Laser-cut underframe, end platforms, ladders, end railing, hand grabs, window glazing, truss rods, and brake wheels
• Cast resin platform steps and brake gear; plastic smokejack; custom decals by Tichy Train Group
• Fully illustrated instructions that provide information on painting and decaling the assembled model.
• Two different styles of roofwalks; and cupola end window variation.
