Missouri Pacific 1939 Standard Phone Booth

1939 Phone Booth

The most common structure on a railroad was the phone booth. Located where ever trainmen and section forces need to get in touch with the dispatcher these small buildings could be found at junctions, sidings, industrial sidings, section tool houses and many other locations. Most lasted until the use of radios made them redundent. This building is an upgrade of an older design that used board and batten construction.
